Artist profile

Mark with Eddy Wouters and Dru blair
I started airbrushing in 1999 after attending a basic airbrush evening course in Eindhoven. I had always been interested in the custom painting world and my ambition then was to paint helmets and motorcycles.
My painting and practice came to an abrubt stop after beaking bones in my hand after an accident in 2000. Unable to airbrush due to the pain and being diagnosed with dystrophy I missed being able to paint with accuracy and comfort so started learning the ancient art of Qigong to help with my condition and in doing so also started teaching with the blessings of my own teacher Leonard Van Schuukmann Founder of the Qigong Circle in the Netherlands ( see www.qigongcirkel.nl )
In 2010 I became confident enough to try again and cleaned 10 years of dust from my airbrushing equipment and just started having some fun with paints again. I soon became balanced enough to tackle helmets and custom work again and being aware of how much I can do without suffering to much from the dystrophy in my right hand, and am very happy so far of how much I am being able to improve my skills with every piece I take on.
This skill level took a big leap after attending a portrait workshop with Eddy Wouters and Dru Blair in Antwerp at Eddy's studio - Smart Productions. I am putting the techniques taught by these two great artists into my present work and have since had great feedback and appraisals from many people who have seen my art since and it is my intention to keep maintaining and producing quality pieces that each one of my clients will be forever proud of commissioning and owning.
